The Healing Ground: Tending Grief

"The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe." -Joanna Macy

If we allow ourselves to truly experience the magnitude of this trying force, we will uncover the gifts that lay hidden beneath the ashes.

When Grief goes untended, we find numbness, complacency and addiction. In this stuckness a half-life occurs, not fully living, but not fully dying. It is in this place of unclear thinking and feeling that we tend to make decisions that are harmful to ourselves, others and the planet. But there is another way.

Reconnecting and awakening to the joy of life requires us to tend to the depths, to visit the shadowy corners and hold tenderly the parts of ourselves we have neglected or pushed away. In gathering with community, we have the opportunity to connect in an authentic way, and to uncover the gifts that lie within our grief.

A weekend gathering designed to explore cross-cultural practices of grief-tending. The workshop is centered on self-inquiry, peer connection, and community healing. As a group, we will participate in a facilitated and ancient ritual designed to allow for deep healing and emotional release.  You will have the opportunity to be witnessed and witness others in a safe and supportive environment.  The weekend will include practical tools for integration and how to bring grief-tending practices into your personal life.
